Have you ever read some amazing books and when you tried to put it down, you couldn’t? Well, that is how I feel about these books. I couldn’t even stand to put the book down because I knew I had to finish the next chapter. Before I knew it, the book was completely finished in 24 hours, LOL! I know that’s crazy right? In 2023, I read so many books that I did lose count. I read roughly about 100 books. I had planned to read more but hey, life happens right!
Now that we’re in 2024 and I have not dabbled in reading that much this year, I still feel the same way about them now than when I read them in 2023. I loved them so much that I wanted to share some of my favorite reads with you. Please don’t think this list is exclusive of others that I have enjoyed because the list is endless!
I have no way of ranking my books because I have picked up some very great reads from Books- A-Million. I absolutely love shopping for books, only in the bargain section and here’s what I picked up and you should too. Autopsy (Patricia Cornwell), Naked in Death (J.D. Robb), The Cellar (Natasha Preston), Dead Dead Girls (Nekesa Afia), The Twin (Natasha Preston), Glory in Death (J.D. Robb), Halem Sunset (Nekesa Afia), The Fear (Natasha Preston) and The 9th Girl (Tami Hoag).
Of all these books, the most gut wrenching thriller/suspense was The 9th Girl. If you want to read a book in less than 24 hours, this is the one. Without spoiling the details, Sam Kovac and Nikki Liska, hunt a serial killer after a woman is found brutally murdered until the ninth girl…..

I use to be a big fan of J.D Robb and I believe she also writes under the name Nora Roberts.
I may checkout a couple of these in your list. Hopefully it will get me out of my current reading slump.

Oh yea, I read about that. I wish I could read all of the series starting back from 1995. Lol. She just came out with another book, but she has over 30 books in the series. I don’t think I will ever be able to read or buy them all.

Okay I’ve had Dead Dead Girls on my TBR I may need to go back and read it! Your brief synopsis of 9th girl is so intriguing! Adding it to my library list now!

Omg, they are sooooo good. I could not put either of these books down. Nafia, just released her new book in July that I have been waiting for since last year. I have the last three books she has written. They are amazing. I love how she mixes the Harlem Renaissance era with her books to make it feel like a vintage type of mystery. She is an amazing writer, well, I think so. The 9th girl was like a movie in my head. It’s really good.
